Starting before MACC-E is finished

I have a pattern: I build until a product feels finished, and only then do I seriously think about distribution. By that point, nobody knows it exists. The work may be good, but it arrives without a history, an audience, or anyone who has been able to follow why it became what it is.

I do not want to repeat that with MACC-E.

MACC-E is still in progress. It can already hear, think, and speak locally. It has an authored identity, a native macOS laboratory, and the beginnings of a continuous spoken conversation. It is not yet the always-on personal robot I want it to become, and several important behaviors still need to be proven on the reference hardware.

That unfinished state is not a reason to remain silent. It is the reason to start writing.

This Journal will include progress on MACC-E, but it is not only a build log. I also want room for thoughts about modern robotics, local and hosted intelligence, embodiment, interfaces, and whatever else becomes relevant while the project evolves. An entry might be an essay, a video, a technical note, a question, or a short observation. There is no promised schedule or required format.

The site will evolve as MACC-E does. The important change is that this time the story begins before the product is finished.
